One item that has always been on my bucket list is visiting the French countryside and staying at a chateau. This trip I was able to cross both off of the list. Sam and I took the train to Angers in the Loire Valley.  We rode out 40minutes into the countryside where we arrived at the breathtaking Chateau Challain. It is one of the few chateaus where you can spend the night.  There were only two other people staying on the property with only two caretakers overseeing the grounds. It truly felt like the whole place was ours. On top of spending the night, we were also treated to a private dinner for the two of us prepared by a local chef using ingredients grown on the grounds and at local farms. We dined in the music room filled with fresh flowers and lit by candlelight. It was insanely romantic. After dinner we strolled through the tiny town and discussed our dreams, our future, and the kind of life we want to create for ourselves. Even after 10 years together, we still learn new things about eachother.

GRAY MALIN-6 GRAY MALIN-24Here is a special little corner in my house. The basket and vase are from West Elm, the bar cart is vintage, the print is from Gray Malin and the amazing candle is Diptyque Paris. Hope you have an extra special 3 day weekend. Happy Flower Friday.

I’ve had this sequined skirt for ages, it was time to put it to use. Let’s be real, I won’t be needing a floor length sequined anything anytime soon. Having always been a water baby, I decided this was the perfect opportunity to play mermaid. I dove into the water in my skirt and went for it. Sam used a combination of our Canon camera and our GoPro to capture these stunning images. I really love how this turned out. I hope you do too.

After blogging for so many years, it’s easy to become uninspired. Shoots like this remind me of why I love creating and using my blog as a platform to showcase my vision of the world.

Happy Wednesday, kittens. Thank you, without your support I would not be able to continue to do this.

PERASOL-2 PERASOL-5 PERASOL-7 PERASOL-3 PERASOL-4 PERASOL-6 PERASOL-1One of the most important aspects of my personal beauty routine is taking great care of my skin. My number one rule is keeping my skin safe from sun damage so I never leave the house without applying a broad spectrum sunscreen. I always have a hat in the car and I always lounge under umbrellas by the pool and by the beach.

To keep my skin healthy but also looking fresh, I prefer to use a light tinted sunscreen. This is my ultimate go to in the summer when I wear little makeup and spend a lot of time outside in the sun. One of my favorite new products is PCA SKIN’s  Sheer Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 45 because not only is the tint great, it also acts as my makeup primer. Sometimes SPF can feel heavy or leave a white cast on your skin but this new Sheer Tint feels amazing and goes on smooth, blending my skin tone.  I also love that it’s water-proof so I won’t sweat it off.  It’s the perfect amount of coverage without feeling heavy on my skin. You can learn more about the product and get a free sample here.
