There’s really nothing more essential than a crisp white button up. It’s an exceptional piece which allows you infinite versatility. I’m currently smitten with this version of a white button up from Frame. My favorite part is obviously the bell sleeves. They give this classic that in-the-moment feel while still retaining its’ timelessness.

We’re only 2 days away from our road trip through France, Italy, and now possibly the Alps. If you have any tips or suggestions please share. You can follow our journey on Instagram – @LateAfternoon starting Wednesday.

As we get ready for our road trip through France and Italy, I can’t help but start dressing as if we are already in Provence. I’m thinking airy dresses and separates, paired with basket bags, straw hats, and oversized shades. Since I have to pack light I’m doing my best to pair down what I bring to only the essentials and a few key accessories. I’m beyond excited for our trip. I can’t wait to bring you all along on the adventure via blog posts, Instagram stories, and scenic pictures of a countryside rarely seen or experienced by most visitors to France and Italy.

I think you all know what my favorite color is by now.  So it’s no surprise that I was overly excited to learn of this amazing pink house art installation located near my home. It felt almost kismet that I had also recently purchased this vintage Dior logo knit dress from my favorite vintage store The Fine Art of Design in Palm Springs.

The art installation was created by @themostfamousartist and curated by Fredrik Lidskog of @impermanent_art. It’s located at 1500 Hi Point st. in LA. I highly suggest you drop by and see it for yourself if you’re in the area, but do it soon because it’s only temporary.  Since “that pink wall” on Melrose is so unbelievably played out this is a more than adequate replacement.

Platform in Culver City is quickly becoming my new favorite spot for shopping, eating, and simply hanging out on a slow day. Platform describes themselves as a collection of  innovative creative stores, eateries, and specialty businesses. A few of my favorites are Aesop for skincare, the newly opened Reformation store is perfect for when I need an outfit in a pinch. There is also Stay, a thoughtfully curated lifestyle store. Loqui has my favorite mushroom tacos and Van Leeuwen is the best for homemade ice cream. There is an abundance of other merchants I still need to check out, with more and more opening each time I come. Next time you’re thinking of something to do in LA make sure to drop in.

Summer suiting is one of my favorite mini trends happening now. I’m particularly fond of anything light, airy, and basically the opposite of what you first think of when thinking of a suit. I tend to gravitate to fabrics like linen. Although prone to wrinkles, hot weather (particularly humidity) serves as the nature’s steamer and minimizes said problem. After a few minutes the heat relaxes the wrinkles and you’re good to go. I definitely think a lovely summer suit is just what we all need in our wardrobe.

I’ve also become partial to wearing scarves in my hair. Whether I’m wrapping an Hermès scarf over a messy bun or braiding a strand of vintage fabric through my hair, I feel like have been transformed into the 1950’s.  Or better yet onto the set of The Talented Mr. Ripley as he murderously lives out a lavish fantasy life in Italy.

Hope you all had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by.
