There’s nothing more chic than a beautifully designed white dress. This Tibi number is absolutely scrumptious. I love the voluminous sleeves. The open back detail adds a touch of modernity and the length is perfect for the season. I paired the dress with silver booties and an embroidered pale pink bag for an industry dinner.
This weekend Sam and I attended the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. It’s probably one of my favorite social events of the year. I get to catch up with industry friends all the while sipping on some of the best bubbly. This year I wore a very special dress I bought when Sam and I were in Paris last year. It’s by a Japanese designer, Tsumori Chisato. She adds an incredible sense of whimsy to all of her designs and creates her own beautiful prints. The sailboat print for this dress came from watercolors she painted herself. It’s one of my favorite pieces. It’s delicate, playful, and the sheer draping adds a romantic touch. I pull it out whenever I need something special to wear. I love feeling confident knowing no one else will be wearing this dress.
Since Sam and I first met, picnics have always something we’ve always enjoyed doing together. We love finding tucked away spots and setting up to watch the sunset. After spending time with family, Sam and I had a moment to ourselves. We decided to take the opportunity to set up a quick little picnic on the bluff of the family beach house. This time of year is always especially magical in Santa Cruz. The weather starts to get a little cooler and the light turns golden. The sunsets are more breathtaking and it always takes me back to the 4 years I spent living by the beach here. Santa Cruz is a sleepy little town that never really changes. Every time I visit I get a tinge of nostalgia for simpler days of living in a beach town.
I’m currently loving the idea of draping myself in jewel tone velvet head to toe. I even have the matching velvet pants to this top which I’m definitely planning on pairing together. I’m not sure if this idea is ridicules or genius or a bit of both. Below I’ve curated a selection of my favorite velvet pieces. Enjoy and have a lovely Thursday. xo
It finally feels like fall has arrived. I’m enjoying the introduction of rich jewel tones, cold weather prints and cozy accessories into my wardrobe. I designed this hat as a mini collaboration with Hat Attack. It was inspired by my love of travel and France in particular. I chose the soft grey and white color combination as a nod to the color of the roof tops as you take in Paris from above. I also decided on a classic shape that will be flattering on everyone. The hat will be available for purchase on their site, stay tuned for the launch.
Sam and I are currently visiting family in Santa Cruz. On our way up we decided to pop into our favorite spot, Carmel Valley Ranch, for a little getaway before we take on babysitting our nephews for the next few days while my sister in law enjoys a much needed vacation. We love this resort for it’s beautiful property, amazing rooms with outdoor soaking tubs and most importantly they are dog friendly. My favorite part is soaking in the tub at sunset and strolling through the vineyards wth my coffee in the morning.
I spent a bit of time trying to think of something mildly interesting to write for this post, but nothing really came to me. There isn’t anything groundbreaking about my outfit. Nothing has happened since my last post that is worth mentioning. So instead of waxing poetic about the merits and versatility of statement tops, I’m just going to let you enjoy the images. If you’re in the mood tell me something about yourself in the comments. I like getting to know you guys.
