It’s finally March which to me means it’s finally spring. I’m not a cold weather person. Growing up in Moscow, I’ve had my fill of bad weather and I’m not too interested in re-living those below zero winter days. I love the feeling of sunshine warming up my skin, the never ending daylight, and the warm weather trends.

Speaking of spring trends there are two that are my current favorites, bell sleeves and wide leg pants. Specifically I love pairing the two trends together. This pair of chambray trousers is just one of 3  wide leg pants that I’ve acquired in the last week.  Part of my sartorial philosophy is to focus on finding styles that I like that work for my body type. Since I started this blog 8 years ago I have worn countless pairs of palazzo and wide leg trousers in my posts regardless of whether or not they were on trend. I find them to be flattering for my tall frame, plus they look great with crop tops which is another one of my favorite “trends”. The trick to pulling off this style of pants is to keep an eye on proportions especially if you’re petite. Once you figure out what works best for you, you’d be surprised at just how easy this type of pant is to style. I like to wear mine with 70’s style tight sweaters, soft tees, crop tops, and cropped jackets. For this outfit I paired my trousers with a cropped knit sweater for a transitional look with a 70’s vibe.

P.S. Don’t forget to shop the Shopbop sale, you can get a discount on both the pants and sweater I’m wearing.

Los Angeles has been unseasonably rainy this month which has been great for all those coats I can never find a reason to wear but always end up getting anyways. We’ve been exploring our new neighborhood lately and with the drizzly weather our favorite stop has been our neighborhood coffee shop, Paper or Plastik. It’s a great hideaway for a midday pick me up. Sam and I love to perch up over the coffee bar and people watch while hiding behind our laptops. It’s becoming our little weekday routine whenever we find ourselves at home.

I hope you guys had a chance to see my post from El Cuyo where I talked about the Trove app. It’s the perfect on the go app for shopping the current trends and outfits from your favorite bloggers. Download it today and shop this outfit right from your phone.

As Sam and I slowly settle into our new home, we’ve been taking time each day to explore our neighborhood. We’ve already found a lovely flower shop just around the corner, and a cafe with a really good menu. There’s also a taco truck that comes by on weekdays, making it the perfect spot for grabbing a quick lunch during busy work days. Getting to know new neighborhoods while building new routines is an aspect of moving I really enjoy. I get a sense of calm when I spend my mornings doing a couple of my favorite activities like buying flowers and drinking too much coffee. It’s the little things that make the winter days more pleasant.

It doesn’t rain often in the city of angels but when it does I love heading downtown to wander around the gloomy city.  It reminds me of when Sam and I lived in San Francisco. Wandering around the city was our favorite thing to do. On hot summer nights we’d get lost in Chinatown. We’d spend rainy mornings exploring the Marina.  Our lazy Sundays stared with a stroll down to the Ferry Building. Out of all the things I miss about living in SF, it’s this wandering I miss the most.

Last month Jared The Galleria of Jewelry invited me to one of their stores to experience first hand what the jeweler is all about. It was incredible how knowledgeable and friendly the entire staff was. After learning about the extensive range of brands, like Vera Wang LOVE and the beautiful Chosen collection of customizable engagement rings, carried at Jared locations, we were given free reign to play with all the beautiful pieces. I tried on everything from gold bangles to brilliant engagement rings. I ended up falling in love with a couple sets of sparkly studded earrings. I knew I wanted to layer them for a glam holiday look. I paired them with silver bracelets, slipped on a full skirt and danced the night away at a holiday soiree.

Check out Jared online or in stores and find yourself something beautiful.
