One of the coolest experiences from our trip to Sundance was visiting the Ice Castles. It was on our list of places to see while we were in Utah and we got super lucky. Usually you have to buy tickets and you get 30 minutes to explore the castles before the next group of visitors enters the icy wonderland. Hundreds of people buy tickets each day so you can imagine that it’s generally crowded.  We got lucky in that a few days prior I met an amazing couple of  women who invited us to tag along on a photoshoot they were doing at the Ice Castles. They had made arrangements to shoot before the place opened up to the public, giving us full access with no one around.  They  were so sweet to let us tag along and do our own thing. It was a surreal and beautiful experience. The castles are unreal. It’s something you truly have to see to believe.

This weekend I went to the flower market and picked up a magnificent amount of seasonal blooms. Feeling inspired, Sam and I decided to take BabyBlue up the coast to the canyons to shoot and we found this beautiful spot under an oak tree. Summer is officially here and I can’t wait to take BabyBlue on some road trips!

What are your summer plans?

FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-3FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-2FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-1FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-4I’m currently working on redecorating our Hollywood bungalow. It really bugs me that I have to order and wait (insert dramatic wail) for weeks for every single piece of furniture I buy. I have no patience and like a petulant child “I Want It Now”. Unfortunately the world really doesn’t care about my struggle with delayed gratification, so I find myself in a half empty house waiting for my rugs, coffee table, bed, desk chairs, vanity and pretty much everything else. We do have a new couch so at least there is that. In the meantime I have this little corner that gives me joy. The gold tray is vintage and thus also totally crooked, but it’s one of my favorite antique finds and I can’t part with it.  The whole corner started with the beautiful Gray Malin print. It’s one of the only pieces of art in our home that was not created by Sam.  Also, if you notice the pink bag is a new iteration of another Mar y Sol bag I own. I absolutely love these bags and really feel they are worth the investment for a perfect beach bag.

Happy Friday, hope you all have a beautiful weekend. Thanks for reading.

DESERT-KIDS_1DESERT-KIDS_2DESERT-KIDS_3DESERT-KIDS_4DESERT-KIDS_5DESERT-KIDS_6Sam and I are weird. We spend pretty much 24/7 together and we don’t seem to get sick of each other. That isn’t to say that we don’t have our share of fights or moments where we may or may not want to strangle each other, but somehow we still end up having a difficult time being apart. This was one of the main reasons behind our decision to work together on the blog. Everything we do is used as an opportunity to spend time together. It’s completely impossible for either of us to imagine life without the other. It’s both scary and wonderful. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I feel damn lucky to have met him and proud of myself for seeing him across the bar all those years ago and making my move. Yes, I approached and pursued him in a bar on Valentine’s Day. We never even went on a real date before saying “I love you”. All this after only two weeks having known each other.  It was the best decision I have ever made under the influence of beer. Probably the best decision I’ve made thus far.

I hope each and every one of you finds a loving partner you all deserve. I hope that you don’t waste time waiting for someone else to approach you. I hope this encourages you to make the move.
When you know what you want there’s never a reason to not go after it (or in my case him).
