Here is a little roundup of photos of a few of our favorite places we visited in the Tulum. I highly suggest Azulik as a hotel worth splurging on even for just one night. It is one of the most stunning hotels I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Our room was right on top of the cliff with an unobstructed view of the crystal clear Caribbean. The rooms are all free of wifi and lit by candlelight. It also has a new restaurant called Kin Toh.  It has Mexican and Mayan inspired cuisine, an open air atmosphere and breathtaking view of the jungle below. We also stayed at Hotel Tiki Tiki, a stylish boutique hotel located about 10 minutes from the strip. It’s nice to be a little removed from the scene sometimes and the sleek 50’s art deco hotel is the perfect place to unwind after a long day in the sun. A few of the other places in Tulum we loved were Papaya Playa for the tacos, beachfront party, and the full moon party. Gitano is a great choice for a more elevated dinner in Tulum. Antojitos La Chiapaneca was our favorite spot for late night tacos. Pro tip : try the salsa first before dumping it all over your tacos. Some are next level spicy. There are also a ton of cute clothing shops on the Tulum Beach strip. I particularly enjoyed a lovely concept shop from the designer Miguelina who has a beautiful collection of locally made pieces perfect for wandering around Tulum. Also a must is Gran Cenote, it is a limestone cave with fresh water and it is absolutely beautiful. Make sure to go early as it can get crowded.

One of the coolest experiences from our trip to Sundance was visiting the Ice Castles. It was on our list of places to see while we were in Utah and we got super lucky. Usually you have to buy tickets and you get 30 minutes to explore the castles before the next group of visitors enters the icy wonderland. Hundreds of people buy tickets each day so you can imagine that it’s generally crowded.  We got lucky in that a few days prior I met an amazing couple of  women who invited us to tag along on a photoshoot they were doing at the Ice Castles. They had made arrangements to shoot before the place opened up to the public, giving us full access with no one around.  They  were so sweet to let us tag along and do our own thing. It was a surreal and beautiful experience. The castles are unreal. It’s something you truly have to see to believe.

This weekend I went to the flower market and picked up a magnificent amount of seasonal blooms. Feeling inspired, Sam and I decided to take BabyBlue up the coast to the canyons to shoot and we found this beautiful spot under an oak tree. Summer is officially here and I can’t wait to take BabyBlue on some road trips!

What are your summer plans?

FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-3FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-2FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-1FLOWER FRIDAY PINK BAG-4I’m currently working on redecorating our Hollywood bungalow. It really bugs me that I have to order and wait (insert dramatic wail) for weeks for every single piece of furniture I buy. I have no patience and like a petulant child “I Want It Now”. Unfortunately the world really doesn’t care about my struggle with delayed gratification, so I find myself in a half empty house waiting for my rugs, coffee table, bed, desk chairs, vanity and pretty much everything else. We do have a new couch so at least there is that. In the meantime I have this little corner that gives me joy. The gold tray is vintage and thus also totally crooked, but it’s one of my favorite antique finds and I can’t part with it.  The whole corner started with the beautiful Gray Malin print. It’s one of the only pieces of art in our home that was not created by Sam.  Also, if you notice the pink bag is a new iteration of another Mar y Sol bag I own. I absolutely love these bags and really feel they are worth the investment for a perfect beach bag.

Happy Friday, hope you all have a beautiful weekend. Thanks for reading.
