PERASOL-2 PERASOL-5 PERASOL-7 PERASOL-3 PERASOL-4 PERASOL-6 PERASOL-1One of the most important aspects of my personal beauty routine is taking great care of my skin. My number one rule is keeping my skin safe from sun damage so I never leave the house without applying a broad spectrum sunscreen. I always have a hat in the car and I always lounge under umbrellas by the pool and by the beach.

To keep my skin healthy but also looking fresh, I prefer to use a light tinted sunscreen. This is my ultimate go to in the summer when I wear little makeup and spend a lot of time outside in the sun. One of my favorite new products is PCA SKIN’s  Sheer Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 45 because not only is the tint great, it also acts as my makeup primer. Sometimes SPF can feel heavy or leave a white cast on your skin but this new Sheer Tint feels amazing and goes on smooth, blending my skin tone.  I also love that it’s water-proof so I won’t sweat it off.  It’s the perfect amount of coverage without feeling heavy on my skin. You can learn more about the product and get a free sample here.

CLINIQUE-1I’ve recently started traveling with the new Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in my beauty bag. It goes on lightly but provides full coverage that lasts all day and doesn’t need to be reapplied when I’m jetting off to dinner after a busy day.  I used it throughout my trip to Paris and loved it as both a foundation and a concealer. I would slip it into my bag as a backup for both but rarely had to worry about touching up. I put it on in the morning (after coffee of course) and start my day knowing that the 12-hour staying power means I’ll be good to go. Get yours at Sephora or Clinique.

ST IVES-Oatmeal ScrubI’ve been using oatmeal for it’s skin benefits for a long time. I’ve recently tried the St. Ives Nourished and Smooth Oatmeal Body Scrub and the St. Ives Nourish & Soothe Oatmeal and Shea Butter Body Lotion. Both products are paraben free and use natural moisturizers to help hydrate your skin. It’s no secret that oatmeal is amazing for your skin and I’ve been making my own DIY scrubs for a long time. The St. Ives products are just as good as anything I’ve made at home and the lotion gives me the moisturizing benefits of oatmeal on my whole body. The price point and availability also ensure I can find it just about anywhere.

Beauty-Products-2As winter rages everywhere but California, I thought I’d share a few winter beauty products and tips I’ve picked up recently.

+ My lovely skin guru, Leslie, gave me a great tip to add a little bit of baking soda into my facial cleanser once a week for a deep brightening cleanse. Currently I’m using the Bare Minerals Clay Chameleon face wash.

Beauty-Products-1+ I’m obsessed with eye cream just like I’m obsessed with mascara. I have at least three in my rotation at all times. My current favorites are the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream, the Shiseido Dark Circle Eye Cream which I’ve been using for years, and the 302 Skincare Firming Eye Cream which I get through Leslie.

+ I got a little tip to use eye cream on my lips. It works!

Beauty-Products-3+  Last  but not least I wanted to introduce you guys to a new line I order on Amazon.  My favorite products so far are the Revision Skincare Nectifirm and Intellishade Anti-Aging Tinted Moisturizer and Sunscreen. The tinted moisturizer is my go-to for when I don’t want to wear makeup. The neck cream has great reviews and I like it thus far but I haven’t been using it long enough to really be sure of a difference. They also have a great facial cleanser but it’s a little too harsh for my winter skin so I’m saving it for summer.

BARE-MINERALS-1 BARE-MINERALS-2 BARE-MINERALS-3 BARE-MINERALS-4One of my goals for the new year is to rethink my skincare routine. I’ve been working with my personal skincare guru to strip away unnecessary products and steps by using products that help with skin health and the appearance of younger, nourished skin. Recently I started trying out the new bareMinerals’ skincare line. It focuses on purifying, empowering, and moisturizing to promote healthy, glowing skin. The new skincare line is all about preventing the signs of aging before they even start. I tried the entire line and picked my top three to add into my rotation. My absolute favorite product from the line is the Clay Chameleon Transforming Purifying Cleanser. It’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin while leaving it feeling clean and refreshed. After cleansing I use the SkinLongevity Vital Power Infusion serum for beautiful glowing skin. I follow it up with the Smart Combination Smoothing Lightweight Emulsion to moisturize my face before I begin applying makeup. I’m loving my new routine and encourage you to give the new skincare line a try.
