I feel like yellow is one of those colors that people are weary of wearing. It’s true that it can be a difficult shade to pull off but just like finding the perfect red lipstick, it’s all about finding the right variation of yellow that works for you. My skin has orange undertones so I always stay away from warm, orange based hues. A good way to offset some more bright primary yellows is with some cooler blues or greys.

Yellow also takes me back to the sun drenched wheat fields in Provence where Sam and I spent days enjoying a laissez faire type of life. It was the same wheat fields and region that my favorite painter Van Gogh drew inspiration for his paintings The Bedroom and Yellow house. When ever in doubt about pairing a color it never hurts to look at some of your favorite fine artists to see how they paired certain colors together.
