CALM DOWN

As someone who deals with anxiety on a daily basis, I’m always trying to find simple ways to ease it. One of the ways that I deal with my anxiety is by taking hot baths. I have always enjoyed a good soak, but more recently baths have become almost a nightly routine. This routine includes lighting my favorite scented candles, preparing a mixture of aromatherapy bath salts or bath bombs, picking out a face mask and depending on my mood, either music or reruns of Scandal. I try to  spend at least 30 minutes soaking, making sure I’m aware of my thoughts to prevent them from drifting into negative spaces. Even when my anxiety feels unbearable the bath relaxes my muscles, revitalizes my mood, and helps my mind slow down. It’s a simple but effective way to reclaim at least a small portion of my day.
