DARK ROMANCE

This Valentines Day will be the 11th year anniversary of the day Sam and I met, subsequently falling in love. If you don’t know the story of how we met, you’re in for a treat in the form of a quick recap. Sam and I met on Valentines Day at a local brewery.  At the time I was a 20 year old college student at the University of California Santa Cruz studying research social psychology. Sam was a 25 year old surfer boy, born and raised on the beaches of Santa Cruz about to move to San Francisco to study fine art.  I spotted him from across the bar, looked into his sky blue eyes, and knew I had to talk to him. I went over to his table and the rest is a true bar love story. We said our “I Love Yous” 2 weeks after that night. We moved in together 6 months later.

I never believed in something as silly as “love at first sight”,  but then I met Sam. Don’t ever shy away from going after what you want. You might just end up with the love of your life. It may end up being a pizza, but a pizza is totally qualified as being the love of your life.  I’m not one to judge.

Whether your night will end with pizza or love, it still deserves a dress (or sweats, whatever floats your boat) to make you feel your best. This year I’m going for a Morticia Adams goes to Coachella vibe. It all started with this Rachel Zoe dress. It has captivated my heart. Is it Sam’s favorite? No. Do I feel beautiful in it? Yes. I don’t dress for anyone but me. At the moment I’m smitten with maxi dresses, so this maxi dress I shall wear. The best part is that my husband is so freaking cute he will tell me I look sexy even when I’m wearing a dress that is literally the sartorial equivalent of a nun’s habit.
