An LA Staycation

(bathing suit- H&M, hat-BCBG, shorts-Zara, blouse-BCBG, shoes-Sam Edelman, necklace-c/o Karen London, bracelets-J.Crew, Jewel Mint, watch-c/o Kenneth Cole, sunnies-c/o David Yurman)
Sam and I have always loved road trips, quirky hotels, and getting out of town. But going from carefree  college students to working "adults"and finding time for long-term escapes has become slightly more difficult. One of our favorite ways to battle these could-be-worse challenges is to book a night at a local hotel and pretend like we're hundreds of miles away. This past weekend we did just that at The Standard hotel, which is literally a few blocks away from our apartment. It was just what we needed and the perfect alternative to a vacation without missing a day of work.

I totally want to do a "getaway" staycation. Esp stay at a place with a pool. Even going out to long island for the day to go to the beach is like a mini getaway for me since I'm not in "NYC" and I'm on a beach.

Lovely pictures.

I'm a firm believer in getting out of the house too. I live in LA so I will have to stay at the Standard soon. I've been wanting to for ages and that pool looks devine. I recently stayed at the Ace in Palm Springs (did a blogpost there too), you must stay there if you haven't already!

Xander Lawson said...

You had me there. For a second, I thought you went to some 3 star hotels in london or something. I guess sometimes, you really don't have to go too far to have a vacation.

Mickey Blue said...

I love your outfits! You shouldn't be at a standard hotel with them funky outfits, sweetie! Why not don them in holidays to zanzibar? You look dashing!

Damian Bathory said...

You girls are really lucky. I can only wish my favorite abbey court hotel was as close to my place as that one is to yours.

Minerva Dobrev said...

I love the venue of this photo shoot. We had a photo shoot once in one of those hotels near london eye and it was enjoyable. We loved the stay because the service was really good.

Alfie Dale said...

It's a really good shoot. We had the same one at abbey court hotel inspired by this sorts of shoots.

Iris Pollemans said...

I love this thematic photo shoots as well. I have a huge thing for hotels and photography. I am always into making it work together. I checked out the hotels in hyde park and fell in love with a lot of spots there that I could actually use for my next project.

Daniel Dixon said...

This is a nice feature of the hotel. We had the same feature of the broadbeach holiday apartments. The ambiance is amazing, and the view is to die for.

Stephen Sanders said...

Living in a hotel like this one is the dream. I really like traveling and just one of my amazing reasons why I love it is because I want to feel the most out of the hotel services, most especially in Liverpool. I love the view and everything in between.
