This vintage dress was one of the gems I found at my friend's store over the weekend.
I love how bare this Zara shoe is. It's almost obscene, even more so paired with a nightgown-like dress.

The main reason behind our trip to the desert was to check out our friend's new vintage store, The Art of Design. My friend curates a book shop that specializes in rare, out of print books and hard to find periodicals, while her two partners focus on assembling one of the best vintage collections I have ever had the pleasure of shopping. If you're a vintage die hard or have an obsession with books and you're in Palm Desert or Palm Springs, it would be a crime not to check it out.
Not only did I get first dibs on their vintage, I also had the opportunity to play around and style their window display in my version of a desert holiday.

Sam and I took a mini road trip to Palm Desert to visit some friends and get baked in 110 degree weather. On our last day we visited the ACE Hotel for brunch and their poolside party. Since the heat was almost offensively unbearable, a loose dress was all I could muster. One bonus of the heat are the hot summer nights. I could live in a hot summer night forever.

This weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with some of my favorite SF people. It was a much needed reunion.
Tucked Away

We've been spending our weekends exploring LA canyons, discovering hidden spots that are tucked away from the hikers/runners/bikers that dominate the canyon trails.
I've been living in these jeans ever since I bought them. I was a bit skeptical about the print, but now I'm convinced. Best purchase of the month, besides maybe my obnoxiously pink shorts and blazer set which is overdue for it's appearance later this week.
