gloomy afternoon

(leopard coat, sweater, suede shorts-H&M, turban- Asos, boots- c/o Need Supply. satchel- c/o Style Sofia, sunglasses-YSL)
The weather has decided to stop treating us to sunshine. SF is back to its foggy old self.
Saturday we went down to the Ferry Building for some fresh seafood and a farmer's market. Prep for MBFW has begun at work and I'm finding myself unprepared for New York's weather (again).
Any suggestions?

Sunshine at my fingertips

(skirt- vintage, top-H&M, shoes- c/o Pierre Hardy for Gap, hat- American Apparel, sunglasses-H&M, beaded bracelet- c/o Planet Blue), wallet-Botkier)
Just a quick shoot during a lunch break. I love meeting Sam for lunch during my workdays.
We grab a bite to eat and he acts as my voice of reason when I decide to do a little lunchtime shopping.

Since SF weather has been so wonderful to us, I've been pulling out all of my spring/summer staples. I love transitioning my wardrobe from winter to spring. It gives me a chance to play with new textures and colors. I love mixing heavyweight fabrics like this cropped sweater with flouncy skirts or flimsy chiffon dresses. Heavier fabrics keep silks and chiffons balanced while creating interesting proportions.

falling apart

Pictures I took around my apartment during a lazy Sunday.
Yesterday was an incredibly rough day for me. My stress has been piling up and I have been pushing it all under. There is always a boiling point, where containment is no longer a possibility and everything rushes back to the surface.
I need a little breathing room, something to ground me again.

Let's go away

(kimono- vintage, cashmere sweats- thrifted, tank-RVCA, shoes-Asos)
This spot is the most beautiful place I've ever taken pictures at. And to think I used to live only a few blocks away and walked these tracks almost every weekend.
This is the last of our road trip photos, taken by the boardwalk in Santa Cruz.
I used to take sunsets for granted. Living 2 blocks from the beach, every sunset was magnificent and every night it was better than the last. If I ever fall out of love with San Francisco, I could easily fall back in love with Santa Cruz.
A kimono is my perfect traveling companion. You can wear it as a dress or a jacket, either way it's like throwing on a robe and calling it a day.

Do you have a piece you always pack for travel?

on edge

(dress- Nastygal, shoes- Alexander Wang, hat- American Apparel, necklace-vintage, sunglasses-YSL)
The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately.
Can't help but fall even more deeply in love with San Francisco.

setting sun

Another sunset from the road trip.
It's finally Friday. I always have such high hopes for my weekends. I make long to do lists and ruminate on the most efficient order in which to run my errands. Most of those lists end up untouched. There seems to always be something better to do.
Hopefully this weekend will be different...
Weather forecast says it wont.

small delights

(dress- c/o Threadsence, boots-Asos, hat- American Apparel, sunglasses- YSL, blue ring- Crossroads)
Pictures from day two of our road trip.
After the crazy pink room, we relocated to the Sycamore Springs Resort
a few miles down the coast.
The area is know for it's underground mineral springs and breathtaking scenery.
Each room at the resort comes with a hot tub that you can fill with hot mineral water
and soak to your heart's content.
My family met us at the resort and we spent a beautiful day strolling the grounds and exploring the quaint little beach town.

back at it

(coat- Nastygal, knit shorts-c/0 Mint Mall,blouse-Zara, shoes-Alexander Wang, sunglasses-YSL)
Back from our four day road trip down the coast. This is the first round of pictures from the trip. Our first destination was the Madonna Inn where our glittery pink room awaited us in all it's delightfully tacky glory. I'm lucky that Sam finds these thing just as amusing as I do. We share a profound love for anything tacky or kitch.
Best part of the day was the watching a beautiful sunset in Pismo beach, with our late night run to IHOP being the cherry on top of an already satisfying sundae.
