Burnt

I love those mornings when an outfit just naturally comes together. Today was just like that. I layered on whatever looked warm and ran out the door without being late for work. I love easy dressing.
Speaking of work, Chictopia is running a really cool contest with the Olsen twin's Olsenboye line. The winner will be picked by MK and Ashley to star in the Olsenboye spring campaign, and will be invited to join Olsenboye's shoot with up to $2000 of travel expenses reimbursed. Interested? Check it out here.

Drowning in gold

(shorts- c/o Queens Wardrobe, sweater-Nastygal, vest-Zara, socks- c/o American Apparel, shoes- Zara, bag- Zara, necklaces- vintage, blue ring- Crossroads Trading Co.)
Sam and I ran away from family obligations for a day of LA adventures.
We visited a few super fancy art galleries, people watched on Rodeo, and just kind of got lost in the city.
The light in southern California has a beautiful golden glow to it. At sunset it almost completely drowns the city, making everything look a little more magical.
I can't stop wearing this cropped sweater and my vest. They just seem to easily fit into every outfit I put together. I love finding pieces like that, they make dressing myself so much easier.

Caught my eye

I have a TON of pics from my trip to LA, so stay tuned!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am thankful for every single one of my readers (that's YOU), my sponsors, and everyone else who supports my blog! Thank you!

I can't wait to go home fore Thanksgiving! Sam and I are driving to LA Tuesday night, and we've already started our overeating.
I've been cooking us extravagant dinners all week, and we spent the entire weekend hiding out from the rain in all of our favorite local haunts.

Finally Friday

(pants-Phillip Lim/Crossroads, blouse-Theory/Crossroads, turquoise ring-Crossroads, shoes- H&M, fur hood- c/o C/Fan, leather jacket-vintage(thanks Megs!), turban-Forever21)
...phew, it's Friday!
Piled on a few of the gems I picked up at the Crossroads event.
These silk pants couldn't have been a more welcome addition to my overcrowded closet.
The fact that I've been looking for a pair like these for ages, makes this acquisition that much sweeter.

why can't it be friday?

(dress-h&m, sweater-c/o bebe, jacket- vintage, boots- See by Chloe, necklaces-vintage)
Scored some amazing designer pieces at the Crossroads X Chictopia Divas shopping event last night. Can't wait to share.
Great meeting some of my readers! Thanks for coming out!

The Simple Life

Don't you wish you could just disappear into a different life sometimes?

Getting that redecorating itch again! This means a trip to Leftovers is in order.

The weekend went by fast. I'm not ready for Monday.

Basic Classics

(via Studded Hearts)
After a brief foray into color, I'm back to eyeing subtle neutrals.
Don't worry though, I'm still all about infusing bold colors and prints into my winter looks.

In the air

(via Inspire/Chictopia)
Happy Saturday!
I'm in Santa Cruz for the weekend attending a funeral, not the best circumstances under which to be visiting such a beautiful place. I keep trying to think of it as a mini vacation, but it's not.
Hopefully I can squeeze in some vintage shopping.

Colors

(cape-Zara, scarf, sweater and shoes-H&M, pants-c/o American Apparel, suede backpack- Chic Swap)
It surprises me that I've only had two posts containing coffee related paraphernalia considering a cup of coffee is permanently glued to my hand at all times. The sweet Starbucks kids not only know my poison of choice, but have introduced me to stronger ways of maintaining my 1:1 blood to coffee ratio.
I was worried this cape was a little too stuffy for casual daywear, but I concede my doubts. It's perfect for any occasion. The only unfortunate side effect is the inability to properly wear a backpack.
