A Perfect Day

(pants, red bodysuit, stockings-American Apparel, jacket, shoes -h&m, tank-F21, clutch-vintage, two finger ring-Erica Annenberg, bracelets-h&m, vintage, random)
Yesterday we spent the perfect day wandering around the city. We started off at Golden Coffee, our favorite place to get $4 eggs, hash browns and toast. Next, we made our way to the Ferry building for fresh oysters and beautiful scenery. Our last stop was China town where we soaked in the festivities of Chinese New Year.

*Thank you American Apparel for sending me the pants, bodysuit and stockings.*

*Update* In response to a comment I just received: Yes, my boyfriend smokes and is also trying very hard to quit. I do not condone smoking nor do I smoke myself, but it is up to my readers to make their own decisions.

Cabin Fever

(via style.com)
I know that this D&G collection is very kitch, but I love it anyways.
The cozy knits paired with light, airy silks and executed in these wintery prints, are just delicious. I can see myself wearing everything from this collection, with the exception of the furry boots.

Ladies Who Lunch

(sweater- American Apparel, skirt-UO, Blazer-vintage, shoes-JC, elephant ring-F21, two finger ring- Erica Anneberg, green turquoise ring- Mexico, bracelet watch- Moschino, hat-vintage)
Met up with my boyfriend for a lunch date today at Andersen's Cafe and Bakery. I feasted on a turkey and fresh mozzarella sandwich, clam chowder and unnecessary amounts of coffee. Wearing this little outfit to Chictopia today, the hat is a bit of an oversight as it is extremely windy and raining today. I love that the new office is so close to my house and conveniently located in the center of all the Market street hustle and bustle.

Lines and Angles

(via Style.com)
Proenza Schouler is one of those shows that I wish I could have seen in person. Their collections are always beautifully tailored and their pieces are modern yet completely timeless. Their designs are the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. I adore their juxtaposition of clean lines and angles with subtly feminine touches. The one thing I didn't really understand was their choice in models. I thought a couple of the girls were a little too severe for the clothing.

*Not sure where my third set went...will udate the post if I find it.*

Some things are better left unsaid

It looks as though I am about to get abducted here.
(blazer-Modcloth, black dress as tee-A Wang, paneled leggings-Nastygal, boots-H&M, sash-American Apparel)
Lately the weather has been decidedly cranky, unable to make up it's mind and periodically drenching all of SF with unnecessary rain. Since rain + camera = no good, I decided to go play around in the basement. My basement, like much of the entire building, is a curious place. There are so many nooks and crannies to explore, you always end up unwittingly finding some long forgotten artifact that was trash to someone else, but immediately becomes a must have treasure in my strange, hoarding mind. I have to admit that I love finding things. One of my favorite pastimes (when I still had a car) was driving around to the Goodwill drop off stations in the middle of the night and rummaging through other people's discarded items. Yup, I am that dumpster diving, crazy lady who you see on the street and wonder how she got there. And I am happy to have my boyfriend as a partner in crime, his artistically inclined mind always finds use for the things we drag home.

A huge thank you to Modcloth for sending me this amazing blazer.

A Dark Romance

One of my favorite shows that I went to at Fashion Week this season was Vera Wang.
I sat in the second row (thanks to my photographer friend) right across from Nina Garcia and even caught a glimpse of Anna Wintour without her sunglasses.
Aside from the fashion royalty that studded the front row, the collection itself was stunning.
From the clothing to the styling, every detail was impeccable. The collection was dark yet romantic. It had a modern, minimalistic vision that was achieved through timeless pieces and delicate touches.
You can read more of my fashion week coverage of the Max Azria, Dennis Basso and Yigal shows at Chictopia.

It's the little things that make me smile

Just a few bits and pieces around my room that make me smile.
I am sort of a recluse really, one desperately trying to overcome her hide away habits.

The Spaces in Between

(leather shorts-vintage, denim button up- thrifted, necklace-F21, tights- red or dead, clutch-vintage, bracelet-Wasteland, ring-Crossroads, shoes-JC)
Our new building is like a labyrinth. Pathways weave in and out of seemingly unnecessary doorways. Small spaces materialize at the end of dark tunnels and just when you think you've seen everything, you stumble upon a new room filled with left behind treasures.

Went out to Shannon's salon for some nighttime pampering last night, complete with champagne and blow outs for all the girls. Everyone at Revamp is incredibly talented and dedicated. I asked for Malibu Barbie hair and walked out with a full, bouncy head of hair.

Boy Meets Blogger Girl

I am ecstatic to finally reveal my collaboration with Boy Meets Girl.
Boy Meets Girl is a fun, flirty, and edgy brand run by Stacy and her creative team. When I stumbled across her brand I was delighted to find her pieces to be chic, comfortable and affordable, but definitely not without character. Stacy designs pieces that are in essence simple, yet full of charming details. Whether it's a lace trim or a small pin attached to the lapel, with Boy Meets Girl it's all in the details. With her F/W'10 collection she is moving into a new direction complete with faux leather, zipper and grommet details, while remaining true to the overall aesthetic of the brand.
Stacy and I have been in correspondence for a couple of weeks now, trying to decide the best way for us to partner. Because she knew I would be coming to New York, she asked me to drop by her office and style a couple of looks for her F/W lookbook. I was thrilled at the opportunity and humbled when I realized the lead stylist was none other than Ali Lang (stylist for MTV, who has also worked with a variety of celebs).
Although I can't reveal the looks I put together, here are a few shots of us playing around at the showroom.

Update: To my pleasant surprise I was quoted in a WWD article that discussed bloggers and the Chictopia10 Summit. Read the article here.

Familiar Surroundings

(floral dress- Mink Pink from Modcloth , silver tee & pink sweater- H&M, white cardi- thrifted, elephant ring & necklace- F21, belt-vintage)
It's been nice getting back to my old routine. Waking up to hot Turkish style coffee, getting cozy next to the window while catching up on my reading, strolling the San Francisco streets under blooming cherry blossoms and walking around at night in light, airy layers.

Nightlife (Chictopia 10)

(dress-Margiela, boots-Jamin leather, clutch-UO, jewelry-F21, fur-vintage)
These were taken at the Chictopia 10 party held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. I didn't really do a good job at trying to take great photos in NY, but I think you get the idea. To be honest as I was looking through all the pics from the trip, I came across a couple of outfits that made me blush. The moral of the story being no sleep + snow + 20 min to get ready = bad outfit. I guess we all have our off days.
Chictopia 10 was a truly special and enlightening experience. Aside from the summit, I got to meet and hang out with some really incredible girls. It's always nice to meet your favorite bloggers and realize they are not only chic, but also down to earth and fun to be around.

P.S. The other girls in the pictures are Raych (That's Chic) and Jennie (Going West).

Sharing is Caring

Just browsing through my sponsors. Sort of crazy over shoes and tights right now, but when am I not?
Slowly starting to love the clog trend (Need Supply).
These feel so sexy yet understated.
I might need to get my hands on these sheers (Modcloth).
As if the black Pixie wasn't tempting enough now there's these electric blue babies?
Ahh why do you do this to me Need Supply?
Oxfords like these are my must have for spring!
Dear Golden has some really amazing vintage.

I leave NY tomorrow (hoping to get on stand by for an early am flight). Expect NYFW post overload when I get back.

NYC

(via CitizenCouture, Cobrasnake, HolierThanNow,)
Sorry I haven't posted, but NY has been crazy. It's been a blast and I promise to write all about Fashion Week and the Chictopia 10 conference. For now these pics should suffice.
P.S. I don't know if it's lack of sleep or the cold or both, but I am super homesick. I miss my boyfriend more than ever, however, I am thankful to be here so no more whining!
