A Touch of Sunshine

I have noticed a lot of yellow popping up at the couture shows, and I am kind of loving it.
It's such a refreshing color and it literally warms me up inside. I am envisioning a light, airy, pale yellow dress for spring, paired with ankle socks and a pair of platform sandals.

I love my sponsors!

I want to give a big shout out to my AMAZING sponsors, without them it would be very difficult for me to maintain my wardrobe and subsequently this blog.
Thank you!
Here are a few items that I am lusting over.

(totally kicking myself in the ass for not buying this before they sold out in my size! Nastygal Vintage)
(Can you tell I have an obsession with wedges? These babies will be prefect for spring.Need Supply *Update: Right after I posted this, the shoes sold out. Lets hope they get more!)

Simple and Chic

(via Refinery29)
I am really loving the idea of belting coats and wearing leg warmers over shoes.

Call Me Legs

(boots-Jamin Leather, lace catsuit-AA, dress-stylestalker, blazer-UO, faux fur collar-H&M, rings-Nastygal, bracelet & necklace-F21)
I finally got my pair of thigh high boots. They are super tall, real leather and cost less than $100.
Where did I find them you ask?
Jamin Leather, your premier discount leather and biker store.
The credit for finding these bad boys belongs to Tamara, the styling assistant at Tobi.com.
I am so happy she told me about them because I was starting to give up hope.
This is a little outfit I put together when the boots arrived.

Styling Tip: I think it's best to keep the look simple when styling these show stoppers, so I paired them with my lace catsuit courtesy of American Apparel and a simple white tank dress that the folks over st Style Stalker sent me. I think the blazer gives it a more polished look while the fur adds a touch of luxury.

On a side note...Have you guys heard about the Chictopia 10 Social Influence Summit? It's taking place in NY during fashion week, and I will be one of the panel speakers along with a few amazing bloggers and industry power players.
You can enter the Chictopia10 contest for your chance to win a trip to the conference or you can buy your tickets online.
Just click my Chictopia 10 banner (upper left hand corner) for more info.
P.S. My chictopia name is Playing with Fire...for those of you who are a bit confused and do not see Late Afternoon on the conference page.

Linear Solutions

(pants-American Apparel, silk tee-vintage, jacket-H&M, shoes-Bebe, socks-American Apparel)
American Apparel sent me these amazing striped trousers and these heart socks. Both of these items are excatly what I have been looking for.

Styling Tip: When wearing high waisted pants that are tapered and voluminous keep in mind proportions. Pair them with cropped jackets and simple tops that keep the silhouette simple and lean.

I need my hair colored like NOW!

... and my heart was beating fast

(top-H&M dress, Skirt-UO, tights-?,jacket-F21, shoes-JC, necklace-F21, lipstick-YSL, evening bag-vintage)
The outfit from Friday night, I felt the need to shoot it in good lighting.
I like the moodiness that the maroon tights and lipstick give this look.

Ink magazine was wonderful enough to do a little feature on my style, take a look at their new issue here .

I was dreaming of the past...

Friday night the girls (Aimee, Jennie, Katie and I) and the boyfriends (mine and Aimee's) went out to a little fashion show.
The show was small and the collection lacked cohesion, but the music was great and the event had a good energy. We were referred to as "bloggers", as in "Bloggers, we're so happy you made it" or "These are really important bloggers you have to let them into the VIP" (someone actually said this to a bouncer at the after party). None of us had identities outside our blogs, I was "Liz Late Afternoon", and it felt a little bit surreal. We all had a good laugh at our pseudo importance.
It was another great night spent with good people.

I am going to take a full body of this outfit later today, so I'll have another post of this tonight.

Topshop S/S 2010 Lookbook

(via cltreanor)
I adore everything from the first set, especially the cutout jeans. Love the booties and the clean lines in the second arrangement, the messy braids from the third one. Plus totally lusting over the blue lips in the last set. Wonder if I can pull it off...

Are you excited for spring?

Lit Up

(leather skirt-vintage, leather jacket-H&M, button down-vintage, tee-A. Wang, gloves-vintage, shoes-Zara)
Lately I have been all over floral prints. I am not even a big floral or print person, but after rummaging through the back of my closet I came up with a few pieces that got me really excited. Right now, since it's still winter, I like pairing the floral prints with leather, but as we move into spring I'll start mixing in pastels and nudes.

All the pretty things

I am so in love with these designs. They have this morbid softness that I am totally drooling over.

What I wish I was wearing

(shorts-vintage, corset-F21, blazer- Silence and Noise, stockings-H&M, shoes- Banana Republic, watches-vintage, bracelet-F21, ring-Cossroads, rosary-Shotwell)
I have always had a hard time dressing myself for the rain and the last few days it has been raining and storming like crazy in the Bay. How the hell are you supposed to look cute and stay warm while getting dumped on? Impossible....well for me at least.
This outfit is my f*ck you to the rain. It's what I would be wearing if it wasn't raining.
These leather shorts are a must for every wardrobe. They possess the uncanny ability to transform an outfit from boring to edgy in .5 of a second (that last part I totally made up, but really go get some). I have been wearing mine none stop and plan to continue wearing them until they completely fall apart.

Styling Tips for Leather Shorts

*Swap your skirt for a pair of leather shorts
*Pair them with oversized sweaters
* Wear fishnets underneath for a sexy nighttime look
*Play around with texture by mixing leather and lace
*Leather and leopard were made for each other
*Add a blazer for a more polished look
*Wear with red lips and messy hair to get that rock and roll cool

Grey Day and Pet Hair

(sweater-Zara, pants-Vince, shoes-crossroads, belt-bf's, watches-vintage, bracelet-F21)
Grey is my favorite shade to wear, it goes with everything and doesn't show pet hair like black does. My life is ruled by pet hair. My cat and dog shed more than any other animal on this planet. I am permanently covered in their hair and constantly picking it off like a mad woman. It's too bad I love them, my boyfriend has been itching to kill the cat (she pisses on everything) for years.
Oh and these grey oxfords are just like the ones I dreamed of!

A Yellow Submarine...

(shoes-Gucci, pants-Vince, sweater-vintage, 2 finger rings-shotwell, disk ring-crossroads, cuff-F21)
I got these beautiful yellow Guccis at a Crossroads event I attended with the lovely Aimee of Song of Style. The event was great. I got to shop, snack, listen to good music and even met a few of my readers. I left the place with 5 pairs of shoes and this leopard print sweater. It was a very successful day.
Unfortunately you will have to wait a little bit longer for the birthday outfit. I didn't get very good pictures at the party, but I am going to photograph it later this week.

We have our lucky winner for the Market Publique giveaway. The random number selected by the generator was #37 and I have contacted the winner.
Thank you everyone who left comments, maybe next time!

it's in the details

My birthday party was fantastic, maybe too fantastic.
Thank you everyone who came and shared in the fun.
I'll have an outfit post up tomorrow. Today, I am recovering with Indian food and a marathon of Entourage.

I wish...

I wish this was me right now. I want the beach and hair that has been styled by nothing but saltwater. I want to hear the waves breaking and feel the grimy sand between my toes. I want to lay on a deserted beach somewhere with my my baby.

Winter Needs Some Sex

I am sure we have all rediscovered our love of thighs. They are everywhere! From Vogue to F21, thighs are my "it" accessory of the moment.
So lets throw on our hot pants and thighs highs, and give winter some sex.

Here's some thigh action for you to get inspired.

But seriously, you know what I am talking about here.

The beautiful and stylish Lindsey Calla from Saucy Glossie named my blog as one of her favorites in her recent feature in Japanese magazine, Glamorous. Take a look at her feature and blog at Saucy Glossie.

P.S. I think this post was inspired by my recent strip club outing...
