A Sensual Romance

(via FashionGoneRogue)
I found all of these photos to be incredibly stunning. I love the sensual, romantic feeling the images capture so well. Each photo is whimsical yet slightly melancholy. In the last photo the dichotomy between the model and the setting creates an especially haunting yet brilliant image.

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
See you in 2010.

Gold Dust

(silk shirt -vintage, brocade skirt and stockings-h&m, gold chains-vintage)
One of my holiday outfits. This one I wore to the Nastygal X-mas party.

Gray and Black

(jacket-H&M, pants-American Apparel, shirt-vintage, shoes-F21, necklaces- Marc by MJ, sunglasses-vintage)
The folks over at American Apparel were kind enough to send me these chambray pants. As soon as I got them I was eager to style them up. They are the perfect balance between comfort and style and are a great alternative to sweatpants. Super comfy and easy to wear, definitely a new favorite.
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays, I am definitely indulging myself in my guiltiest pleasure...FOOD!

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season. Spend the time with those you love and remember that everyday is a gift. Life is precious, make sure you make the best of it with those who mean the most to you.

On a side note... I just can't help myself, I want these...all of them.
(Tobi.com, A Wang, exposed zipper dress- the perfect addition to make rather small dress collection)
(Market Publique ...wish I could afford this vintage Chanel beauty)
(shopbop - the design is simple yet genius)
(need supply... just got these.)
(Modcloth- what a stud muffin right?)
(nastygal vintage and need supply - hello lover... your zippers make me crazy )

Winter Inspiration

(via stilinberlin, streetpeeper)
Browsing the bloggersphere I came across these three looks that captured my attention. I am dying to get an oversized black coat and scarf to wrap myself up completely. Oh and belting chunky knits? Such a great idea.

(Altamira)
These two are just adorable and I love their girly take on the model off duty look.

Mmm The Holidays

(trousers-vintage, blouse-vintage, belt-vintage, shoes-vintage, sweater-vintage, turban-Nastygal vintage)
These are from a 70's themed holiday party I attended over the weekend. I wore a Halston inspired look complete with white satin trousers a white silk blouse and a leopard turban (the turban was not so much Halston, I just wanted to wear it).
I love dress up parties.
* My boyfriend is doing his best impression of "the most interesting man in the world".

X-mas Party

(jeans-Hudson, top-H&M, sweater-H&M, blazer-vintage, shoes-JC)
Just a running about town look...well running is actually totally impossible in those shoes.
Notice my chunky layering to shield me from the freezing cold.
(Profreshstyle, Jennie Going West, Song of Style, CaliVintage, Work it Berk, Helen Zhu from Chictopia, Katie the fashion writer, This Is Xtina, Fazed Girl...will link later...running late and trying to get this post up)
Here are some pics from our blogger meet-up last weekend.
We played the white elephant game, fashion trivia games, filmed a short clip for Chictopia, and gorged ourselves on homemade cuisine and champagne.

We will definitely have more meet-ups and are even looking into possible sponsorships for the events, so if you are a bay area blogger or just want to come hang, email me!

*Hey! Have you checked out my sponsors?
Please do! They help me keep this blog running.*

Nastygal Vintage - on trend vintage and new clothing to make you stand out in the fashion crowd.
ModCloth - Unique pieces for a one of a kind you.
Need Supply - Urban styles for city dwellers and country girls alike.
Market Publique - Vintage treasures for every budget.

Now I am off to brave the city for X-mas shopping, this is what I get for procrastinating.

A Lasting Impression

(FashionGoneRogue)
One of my favorite images from an editorial in Vogue Italia, June 09.

A Steal

(blazer-vintage, shirt-vintage, skirt-Urban Outfitters, bag- Marc by MJ, shoes- Jeffrey Campbell)
I wore this to our blogger dinner yesterday which was an absolute blast. I am so thankful to have all of these fantastic girls to talk to about blogging and fashion.
(I'll post the pics from the party next post)
This guns and roses tee was an incredible find and a total steal. I bought it for $7, but it's actual worth at any real vintage store would have been at least $80! It's worn and torn to perfection and goes perfectly with my girly pink skirt.

Winter Styling Tips
* Invest in a classic coat
* Pair heavy knits with leather pants, jackets, and skirts
* Layer cardigans under and over your blazers
* Wear your thigh high socks over sheer tights
* Layer slips under dresses and skirts and let them peak out
* Layer shades of gray
* Wrap yourself in oversized, chunky scarves
*Wear bright colors to liven up dreary days
* Instead of the expected holiday dress try a high waisted trouser with a corset top

Get Nasty

I am so excited to share this video lookbook I shot for Nasty Gal a while back.
I think it looks amazing and everyone did a great job with styling, editing, and make up.
It was a blast to film and when you see us drinking beer and eating chips, it's all for real, breakfast of champions.

(styling-Sophia (the Nasty Gal herself), models-your's truly and Alex, directed by Paul Trapani & Hiawatha Bradley)

Here are some shots of Nick (my nastygal bf) and me screwing around.

It has been raining non stop in SF and the past week it has been like 35 degrees. Are you kidding me? 35? That's a temperature I am not prepared to deal with.
I need new boots...Thigh high boots for under 200...suggestions? Must be leather and must actually stay up on the leg without getting all slouchy and annoying.

Even Kiss Was There

Over the weekend I had the chance to attend an art/music/design show/party. My lovely boyfriend (who's name is Sam and who actually takes all of my blog pictures!) had a piece in the show and so it was imperative that we went. The event turned out to be a blast and I even ran into fellow Bay Area blogger Jennie from Going West .
Here are some pics from the event.

I loved the quirkiness of this girl and her designs.
This bad ass chick is a total rock star and her designs are out of this world amazing. She creates whimsical pieces that blend the line between sci-fi, glamour, and rock-and-roll. If you look close enough you'll find that she is all over the blog world.
(Domonique Echeverria)
I love the tough yet organic feel of this jewelry, wish I had had
enough cash to snag a few pieces.

On a side note, I am thinking of selling a few special vintage pieces on this blog. Would anyone be interested? I think the first item will be a gorgeous beaded pencil skirt.

Oh and in case you're curious as to what I wore to this event, it's the outfit from the previous post.

Where's the Feeling I've Been After?

(shoes- JC Clinic Wedges (thanks Nastygal), skirt-vintage, blazer-vintage, shirt-Alexander Wang, coat- Michael Kors)
Bonus points to anyone who can name what song the title is from.

Spotted

(sweater-vintage, riding pants-Zara, shoes-F21, bag F21)
It's been so cold in the city I can hardly function.
Here is my Forever21 feature for those of you who haven't seen it yet. I am extremely flattered to be featured among some of my favorite bloggers like Karla, Rumi, Susie Bubble , and Camille

.

Black and White

(via FashionGoneRogue)
It's been a tough week for me, but we all go through ups and downs. I have some really great blog projects to work on this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to keep my mind of my troubles.
Happy Friday!

Around Town
