Forever 21 Collaboration and More

Not too long ago I wrote about a possible collaboration with Forever 21 and their blog The Skinny . Now I can finally show you what I was talking about. Today they launched their new themed collection that is available online. They asked me and two other lovely bloggers to style a piece from their new collection.
I love this little dress they sent over and I think it's perfect with a little bustier over it. I have been dying to play with the underwear as outerwear trend.
(dress-Forever 21, bustier-UO, stockings-H&M, shoes- Aldo, jewelry= Forever 21)
The lovely and stylish CaliVintage did a sweet little feature on me , check it out and stop by her etsy shop ( it's full of vintage treasures).
Here is another little feature over at Fashion Questions

Crop It

(top-AA via clothing swap, trousers-H&M, belt-vintage, shoes-Implo, jewelry-F21/vintage,sunglasses-vintage)
As you can see my pension for crop tops is continuing despite the chilly San Francisco summer. I got this top from the Chictopia clothing swap this weekend along with some killer 80's shorts and a stunning floral blazer. I am very excited to play around with my new pieces as they are both a challenge to style.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Lately I have been  lusting over simple silk tanks and black velvet. Anyone else developing  the same obsession?

P.S. Enter my contest below for a chance to win a Mink Pink fringe vest.

Contest and Blogger Meet Up

Hello my lovely readers! Today I have something very special
to offer you. I am hosting my very own contest and giving away this amazing Mink Pink vest. This baby is a pretty trendy item right now but if styled the right way it can definitely last through the seasons.
To enter the contest you must leave a comment with the word VEST at the top and a few reasons descrbing why you like this piece. You must be a U.S. resident (sorry!). I will run the contest for 15 days and you can leave up to three comments per person on this post. At the end of the contest I will use a randomizer to generate the winning comment. If you do not have a blog where I can contact you, please leave your email.
If the winner's size in this particular item is no longer available, the winner will be able to choose any item from this designer. Thank you for understanding and good luck!

I am also really happy to announce the Chictopia Clothing Swap/Blogger Meet Up.
If you are in the Bay Area come out and meet me and the rest of the Chictopia team.
I would really love to meet my fellow bloggers, so please come. We will have drinks, great clothing to swap and who knows maybe you'll make a new friend.

July 25th, Dolores Park, 2:00 to 5:00pm by the tennis courts.

I am Full of It Today

Check out the crazy new Marc Jacobs ad campaign, it has that "I grabbed my crappy camera and snapped away during my fabulous three day drug binge" feeling to it. As a true Marc Jacobs enthusiast I love it, I love everything he does.
For more pics check out Fashionologie.

The 80's hooker look is really catching my eye right now.

Also, take a peak at this witty little piece on how to be photographed by the Sartorialist.

Concert at the Park

(shirt F21, shorts-DIY, jewelry-thrifted/F21)
Yesterday we had the pleasure of listening to the San Francisco Symphony at Dolores park for their 6th annual Concert in the Park. We sipped champagne from the bottle (we're classy like that), people watched and basked in the warm sunlight. I could not imagine a better way to spend my Sunday.

Street Art

(crop top-Urban Renewal, skirt-vintage, shoes-Aldo, jewelry- vintage/F21)
The lovely lady at Style Porn tagged me to list 10 things that my readers may or may not know about me...

1) I was born in Havana, Cuba. We lived on a military base until I was two.

2) I lived in Russia until I was 9.

3) I love Korean food and can pretty much eat any Asian cuisine on a daily basis.

4) I consume (binge on) an unhealthy amount of sugar every single night. My friends call me a fat kid because for me it is not a state of being but a state of mind.

5) I do not exercise in the least bit. Having to walk around in SF is kicking my ass.

6) I am a liberal but have an addiction to FOX News. I find O'Reilly and Hannity so full of shit it's hilarious.

7) I love animals. I am not allowed to visit animal shelters because I cannot walk away from a sweet face.

8) I am scared of whales and snakes.

9) I love existential literature.

10) I collect Dia de Los Muertos figurines ( I am a bit morbid).

Where the Wild Things Grow

(tunic-H&M, belt-thrifted, shoes-Chinese Laundry)
One of the perks of working at Chictopia is the time set aside daily to take pictures of our outfits. This was taken yesterday outside the office.
This tunic is meant to be worn over a bathing suit but i think it does just fine as a dress. I slipped on some shorts underneath it to prevent any accidental flashing.

Hot Times, Summer in the City

(cardigan-Marc by Marc Jacobs, long tank- ?, shorts-AA, shoes- UO, tights-H&M, jewelry-F21/DIY, purse- mom's Bally)
I fished this cardigan out of a large pile of cast offs and decided it needed to hang around my closet a bit longer. To breathe some new life into this piece I took off all the huge purple rhinestones that bordered the edges. I think this oldie looks fresh and new again.

On a little side note...I just started my internship at Chictopia and I am really excited! If you guys are not yet on it, please do sign up. It's an inspiring, supportive fashion community and a great platform to showcase your style and receive honest feedback.

Loving Right Now...

Lingerie as Outerwear

(pics via net-a-porter, nastygalvintage, polyvore)

Although this look may be considered a bit risky or loud by some, I love the idea of something so sexy as a bustier paired with trousers, a high-waisted pencil skirt, or even a tulle mini. Pairing these ultra feminine and sexy pieces with a masculine blazer will help tone down the look.

Windy City

Hello lovelies,
Hope you all had a fantastic fourth of July.
I have some really exciting news to share.
The people over at Forever 21 contacted me for a possible collaboration. I'll let you guys know more as things progress.
I also finally moved up to San Francisco. Even though right now I am cramped into my boyfriend's place it's still great to finally be up here, now to find a job...
(shorts-F21,shoes-Kenneth Cole Reaction, blazer-thrifted, denim shirt- UO, tank- H&M, necklace-F21, purse-thrifted)

Last but not least, my face is no longer puffy and I am no longer sedated. This means I am back to posting.
