Puffy Puff Fish

This is stunning, the new Chanel Fall 09 campaign (via FashionSpot).

The lovely lady at Sins of my Mind gave me this sweet award and I in turn am giving it to the following lovely blogs...

Damsels at We were Damsels
P.S. My wisdom teeth were pulled yesterday instead of last Thursday and I am a puffy puff fish and the pain medication can only do so much. I am not sure if blogging under the influence is such a great idea.

In the Neighborhood

(trousers-80's thrifted, shirt- vintage renewal, belt- thrifted, sunglasses- vintage, earring-DIY, shoes-vintage)
Just a simple outfit for a day spent with friends and lovers that turns into an evening of great food, drink, and company.

Little Sergeant Pepper Dress

(dress- Marc by Marc Jacobs, shoes- vintage pumps, headband-thrifted chain necklace, jewelry- thrifted/vintage/H&M)
Sometimes the little black dress needs to make way for the perfect little Sergeant Pepper dress. A dress like this speaks for it self and stands on it's own. A simple pair of nude, vintage pumps is the perfect counterpart. Since this was a nighttime look I threw on some chunky bracelets, a chain headband and an extra large cocktail ring. It's my version of an updated 60's London hipster.
On a side note, getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow. Scary.

Inspired by Balenciaga 2010

(trousers-H&M, shirt- pika 1988, shoes- DSW, clutch- vintage, jewelry-vintage, sash-vintage)
Today's outfit was inspired by the Balenciaga resort wear 2010 collection
(which I blogged about in the last post).
I spent this beautiful Sunday vintage shopping with some friends. I stumbled upon the most adorable mint green handkerchief, which I plan to tuck into the pockets of all my slouch tees, and a perfect pair if nude vintage pumps. I also bought a great pair of 80's high-waisted trousers, after a bit of reworking they will be perfect for fall.
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

I DIed and Went to Heaven

I love the Balenciaga and Proenza Schouler resort wear 2010 collections. The layering in both collections is flawless and the mix of masculine pieces like trousers, blazers and shorts paired with feminine tops or killer platforms is pure perfection to my eyes.

The ruffle collars in the Balenciaga show are on their way to becoming a huge trend and countless bloggers have appeared wearing similar collars. This is definitely a trend I am itching to explore.
Also notice the whimsy of the Balenciaga dresses. The bouncy ruffles cinched with tiny belts? again perfection of the purest kind.

My internet has not been functioning properly or even at all so I am sorry for the lack of updates and comments!

Celebrating Life Gone By

I finally graduated!!! Saturday was a sad and yet strangely exciting day. The whole graduation process resembled my college experience and struck me as indicative of my entire nature. The day started with me picking up my first college friend and finding her in a complete state of disarray, naked and taking shots of whiskey. We were already running very late ( and still had to get our caps and gowns) so I quickly persuaded her to get dressed and helped her rework an old dress to her liking in under 20 minutes. Once out the door we navigated through campus traffic, picked up our wrinkly black gowns and scurried off to the ceremony. Arriving fashionably late and not knowing our positions ( because going to grad practice the day before on a hang over was not an option) we ended up last in line in the entire procession. True to form, our tardiness served us well and we sat in the front row and were the first to graduate.
(My first college friend.  The buildings behind us are where we spent most of our freshman year hiding out from the cold and rain and consuming copious amounts of cafeteria food and illegal substances, when we still had a propensity toward trouble.)

In other exciting news I won the chictopia hot hot summer contest and received a $250 gift certificate to spend at Needsupply.com.  I also have a feature coming out soon, more on that later.
Here is an outfit post too, just because I have been lagging...

Blending In

(jeans-F21, boots-Jeffrey Campbell, belt-thrifted, blouse-thrifted, jacket-H&M, bag-Betsey Johnson, jewelry-thrifted, sunglasses- vintage)
Today's outfit just kinda came together. I pulled things out of my closet and they just worked, love days like this. I really think grey is the perfect color for spring, like black it works with everything.
Lately I have been extremely enamored with the Glamourai. She has inspired me to start playing with patterns and to dip my toes into "mixology". If you guys don't already drool over her creations go check her out.  I love how inspiring the blogging community is and I think she is one of the most inspiring women out there.

Flower Power

(bustier-F21, trousers-H&M, shoes-OU, jewelry- F21/thrifted, clutch- vintage)

My San Francisco trip went great! We found a great little apartment (fingers crossed we get it) and I was able to buy almost all of the items on the shopping list from the previous post.
This was my Friday night outfit.  I know this look can be tricky but I think pairing the bustier with masculine pants and blazers helps balance the femininity of top.
College Graduation is less than a week away.

It's not a skirt it's a scarf.

(jacket-UO, sweater- thrifted, shirt- thrifted, skirt- AA circle scarf, belt-stolen from bf, stockings-H&M, necklace- Marc by Marc Jacobs, clutch- vintage, thrifted, sunglasses-vintage)
I have been unable to find a new skirt and so this morning I decided to play around with my AA circle scarf. After a few minutes of folding and draping and belting I came up with this totally wearable skirt. I wore it all day and it was comfortable and not fussy.
I am in San Francisco right now house hunting and shopping for graduation shoes. The next few weeks are going to be very crazy.

My shopping wish list for tomorrow:

Pink Boyfriend Blazer
Cuffed Trousers
Killer Wedges
Flower Bustier
Puffy Skirt
Denim Jacket
Sexy Bike Shorts
Suspenders
More Slouchy Tanks

Easy Rider

I just love this girl, this look, this picture. Tomorrow I will go and buy suspenders.
Two weeks until college graduation and I am feeling confused, overwhelmed, and nostalgic.
Outfit post soon, I am sorry I have been so terrible, hope everyone is having a great week!
